Defacto needs to be connected to your financial data in real time in order to provide you with our financing services. Without this live access, we cannot validate your loan requests.

In accordance with the European directive DSP2, connections to bank accounts via API, known as 'open banking', expire every 90 days. This is to give customers more control over the data shared, and to ask you again for authorisation to read your financial data.

When this happens, you will receive the following notifications to reconnect your financial source:

  • An email from Defacto with a link to the Data Source page within your customer account settings

  • A banner in your customer account

  • A 'Disconnected' alert on the Data Source page within your client account settings

At Defacto, we take your security and privacy very seriously. We will never ask you to share the login details of your financial tools or bank accounts.
